Additional Awards Your Scout May Earn
During his Time
as a Cub Scout:
NOTE: These awards are additional opportunities for achievement, but should never overshadow or hinder a scout's first priority – which is to complete his badge of rank requirements.
Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award
Tiger
Cubs, Wolf and Bear Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts have the
opportunity to earn the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award. Boys may
earn the award in each of the program years as long as the
requirements are completed each year. The first time the award is
earned, the boy will receive the pocket flap award, which is to be
worn on the right pocket flap of the uniform shirt. Each successive
time the award is earned, a wolf track pin may be added to the flap.
Leaders should encourage boys to build on skills and experiences
from previous years when working on the award for a successive year.

Religious Emblems Programs
A
Scout is reverent. He is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his
religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters
of custom and religion.
To encourage members to grow stronger in their faith, religious
groups have developed the following religious emblems programs. The
Boy Scouts of America has approved of these programs and allows the
emblems to be worn on the official uniform. The various religious
groups administer the programs. Check with your local council
service center or contact the religious organization directly to
obtain the curriculum booklets.

Cub Scout Academics and Sports Awards
As
a supplement to our regular program, Cub Scouts can also
work on earning
Cub Scout Academic and Sports Awards -- click here for the complete
list of available subjects. These belt loops and pins
can be earned for learning and practicing skills in a specialized
area of study.
The Cub Scout Academics and Sports Program is for Tiger, Wolf, Bear,
and Webelos Cub Scouts, with over 40 subjects ranging from Art to
Volleyball. Each begins with a fun Belt Loop award as an
introduction and has an optional Pin award for more practice or
learning.
Boys learn new techniques, increase scholarship skills, develop
sportsmanship, and have fun. Emphasis is on introducing a boy to a
sport or academic subject, allowing him to participate in it and
encouraging him to do his best. The Academics and Sports program
focuses on learning and skill development—not winning. Boys
participating in the program will be recognized for enjoying
teamwork, developing physical fitness, and discovering and building
new talents. The Academics and Sports program encourages a boy to do
his best.
Belt
Loops
Belt loops are awarded to boys who complete the three belt loop
requirements in an academic subject or sport. Participation can take
place individually or with the family, in the den or pack, or in the
school or community. Academics belt loops are gold, and Sports belt
loops are silver, with the exception of Archery and BB Shooting,
which are copper colored.
Belt loops may be worn with the Cub Scout uniform on the Cub Scout
belt. Webelos Scouts who have chosen to wear the khaki uniform may
still wear the blue Cub Scout belt so as to display the belt loops
they have earned.
Pins
Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts may choose to continue
their involvement in an Academics or Sports area and earn the pin.
Pins may be worn on the Cub Scout Academics and Sports letter.
The
Academics and Sports letter (seen at right) is available to boys for
displaying Academics and Sports pins that Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts,
and Webelos Scouts earn.
The letter, representing "Cub Scouts," can be worn on a
red patch vest, sweater or
jacket, or displayed or framed. It does not go on the uniform. There
are no specific requirements for earning the letter, as it is
designed merely to display pins.)
